OOC : I’ve got all my replies drafted and ready to post! I’ll have them published once I get back from my classes, haha.

OOC : There’s also an event that looks pretty interesting, haha! My friend who’s playing Mitsurugi from Soul Calibur really wants me to reply to her’s when she makes it, but I’m sort of stuck with making Daisuke’s scenario! Hopefully I’ll have something figured out…

OOC : Gah, my apologies for the few days of absence! Work for classes caught up to me again, and I was being dragged all over the place with some people on the weekend, haha. I’ll be getting to replies right now! I think I owe a reply to… Noah, Sora, Lightning, and Celty!

A City That Wasn’t Tokyo (Open Post!)

painting—music:

Noah looks around as well. It is big.

“Six sectors, and each one is about the size of this one. And they all have their own weird quirk.”

When the man mentioned a subway, Noah smiles.

“And there’s a train connecting all of them. Not quite a subway, but it’s the same concept. I’m sure if you know how to use a subway, you can use a train~”

He remembers one exhibit he visited in Chicago full of modern ‘contemporary’ art. One piece was just a yellow canvas glued to a black canvas.

Maybe Daisuke could do something like that?

A green canvas pasted to a blue one — the blue representing the sky and the green, Earth. The small gap between the two forms the endless horizon.

So simple, but it can go so far.

“Blue and green are great colors~ Blue is peaceful, calm; but it can also be sad, somber. Green could represent nature and a connection to it, or it could be envy. Or courage.

Blue and green together make the colors of the earth: land and water and air — the basic life-giving factors of nature~”

“Six of these places!?” Daisuke exclaimed, amazed that the large and lovely city that he was currently in happened to be just one of a set of others. But, in a sense, that feeling did remind Daisuke of Tokyo and how its different districts were considered small cities of their own. At least, he assumed that it was the same principle. “But each of ‘em have somethin’ different, huh? Hah, but they all look nice and quiet like this city, right?” With the man finding himself in what he called a “sci-fi situation”, he had begun to figure that the different cities, or sectors as they were called, could have had completely different environments. Perhaps four of them took place during a different season, and the others were in the extremes of hot and cold? The idea of a train connecting all of the cities excited Daisuke, though, and he grinned, “So I can hitch a ride ta these other places just ridin’ a train? That’s awesome! Hah, and I’m sure I’ll be fine with the train. We’ve got ‘em back home in the city ta take us all over the place!” Daisuke personally preferred the trains over the subways, enjoying the outside scenery that the trains provided instead of the dark but still fascinating tunnels. A train ride to the beach was one of the modest luxuries that the scruffy man enjoyed every once in a while.

Noah’s rather insightful view about the two colors that Daisuke mentioned amazed the man, and he looked on at the teenager with great admiration. “Whoa, I never thought of it like that, haha! Ya really know your stuff, Noah!” The man beamed, and thoughts of his childhood home in the countryside flooded his mind. The blue of the waters that flowed in the rivers and rested in the rice paddies. The green of the rich earth and trees that gave oxygen the purest feeling in the world. Those were the images that Daisuke had seen, and he could even feel his eyes clothes for a moment in an attempt to fully visualize all of those beautiful sight and sounds. But that daydream was quickly interrupted and concealed by the sound of a honking car horn from nearby. The man’s shoulders jolted, startled by the sudden noise. “Hah, sorry about that… I think was probably spacin’ out on ya, wasn’t I? ‘Happens sometimes.” He chuckled as he scratched his head.

Anonymous whispered,

I'm curious mun, what does Daisuke's voice sound like?

OOC : I’ve been thinking about that since I first made him, and I’m still unsure! Haha, honestly I think everyone is free to imagine how he sounds like, but I’d say that my own personal input is that his voice sounds somewhat deep but not to a great extreme. His cheerful attitude that he almost always has makes his voice sound just a little bit higher than it does if he was speaking a neutral/”normal” mood. Haha, I’m not really good at describing this sort of stuff in typed words.

10.) What I want more than anything? Ya know I don’t ask for much, Anon, hah! ‘Only thing I really want is for me an’ everyone ta be happy!

12.) I’ve got lots of little crushes, heh… There’s this guy at the construction site I work a who’s real nice ta me, but I think he’s got a girlfriend. There’s a man who takes the subway ta work everyday too, an’ he always asks me how I’m doing! Maybe I could go for a drink with one of ‘em, just to chat is all.

18.) A favorite band’s a hard one. I don’t got a CD player or a computer, so I sometimes get a chance ta listen to songs at the music store. My dad really loves The Beatles, though! I remember listenin’ to their songs on the radio back when I was a kid and liked them a lot!

Anonymous whispered,

Hey mun, how do you think Daisuke would react if he saw a muscular older man who was a samurai here? Not that I'm thinking of doing something or anything~.

OOC : Oh god… Haha, I’m not going to lie, I think he would be very flustered and possibly smitten for the guy! And Daisuke would keep asking him all about his life in that era and maybe try to get a sword lesson out of it. If you’re thinking of making a character like that, go ahead, Anon! I think Daisuke (and I) would really like that, hah.

Anonymous whispered,

What are your thoughts on death/dying?? Like how do you think you'd handle it?

Haha, that’s a pretty touchy subject, ain’t it? Mm, I never really sat down ta think about that kinda stuff, but I guess I’ve always believed that ta live also means to die. Somethin’ like, the second things are born into the world, they’re gonna die at some point, ya know? Ah, but of course I’m scared of dyin’, too. It’s just that… I think that everyone’s gotta enjoy their lives as much as possible before that time comes! Sittin’ around and thinking about that stuff all the time ain’t good for ya, haha.
